Pack With Me | My Beauty Check List

Updated: Apr 3, 2020

I’ve done a good amount of travelling over the last couple of years and it has really forced me to pack smart. When it comes to beauty products, I’m an over packer, but recently I’ve been really trying to only bring my essentials.

Honestly, I like to bring options whether its beauty products, clothes, or shoes when I’m on vacation, so its definitely been a challenge for me to cut down on my packing, especially when it comes to my beauty routine. After trial and error, I have dialed my beauty items checklist to my top must-haves. Not to mention no more overweight bags lol

One of my key tips when it comes to packing makeup for travel is hydration to help combat the insanely dry airplane air and tackle the change in climate depending on your destination. I love the Summer Friday Jet Lag Mask and my Laneige Lip Mask, and a few other gems that can plump your skin up during your travels.

Keep this as your checklist when preparing for a trip —or if you don’t have any trips in the works, use it to simplify your morning routine and try some of my must-haves!

Below are my top items - let’s get into why I picked these specific products. Most of these products won out over others because they versatile and can be used day to night.

1 / Moisturizer: Magic Cream has been my go-to for a while now and for good reason. It gives your skin the prettiest glow, adds hydration, acts as a primer and it can be worn alone OR under makeup. I love that it’s skincare, so I know my skin is absorbing the benefits and still works best with my makeup.

2 / Foundation: I have a few foundations I love but if I had to pick one, Charlotte Tilbury’s Unisex Glow would be it. It actually morphs to your natural skin tone for a natural-looking finish. This is great especially when you get a tan and don’t need to wear a full coverage foundation (no need to worry about matching to your new skin tone either!). If you do like something with a bit more coverage, I recommend using Luminous Silk. This foundation feels so lightweight on your skin and provides medium coverage (also photographs really well). Shade: Spring/Summer 6.5.

3 / Concealer: If you’ve seen any of my Instagram posts or read my beauty-must haves, you’ll know that I don’t go anywhere without my shape tape concealer. Its full coverage which I love but I can also wear it on lighter days. For those days where I want a more natural finish, I just use a tiny little dot and blend it out with a damp beauty sponge. Shade: Light Medium Honey/Medium

4 / Powder: This is hands down the best under-eye setting powder: Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Finish Setting Powder. Shade: 1 Fair for a bright under-eye | Shade: 2 to set the rest of my face.

5 / Bronzer: I love a good bronzer but I always go back and forth between Tan-tastic by Marc Jacobs Beauty and Luminous Bronze Light by Hourglass. Pro Tip: I use both these products for a quick natural eyeshadow look.

6 / Liquid Blush: I’ve been really into the cream blush lately because I love the natural glow it gives your skin. I’m all about making my skin feel and look its best. This product by Charlotte Tilbury it easy to travel with as well. Shade: Pinkgasm

7 / Liquid Highlight: Same as the blush, this highlight is ideal for travel! Shade: Spotlight

8 / Mini Eyeshadow: I’ve been really into Natasha Denona’s mini eyeshadow palettes – they take up less space and totally do the trick. Mostly, I look for a palette that has natural shades with a mix of lighter tones and something dark to create both a day and night look. Bonus if it has a shimmer shade! Palette: mini star eyeshadow palette | mini sunset eyeshadow palette.

9/ Brows: I keep it simple and just pack my brow pencil by Benefit. Shade: 3.5

10 / Lash Curler: Packing a lash curler is a must for me! It totally helps to open up your eyes and give your lashes the best lift!

11/ Mascara: Usually when I travel I like to get lash extensions so I won’t have to worry about my mascara melting off but for those of you who prefer mascara and want to keep it light: TOO FACED Better Than Sex Mascara is great which comes in both a regular and waterproof formula!

12/ Lips are pretty self explanatory! For lips I try to pack at least 1 nude, 1 red, and a couple lip glosses. As long as I have those with me, I can create basically any look! Pro Tip: If you pack one of each, you can even mix them together to create different shades.

13/ A setting spray is also a total must for me, it helps set your makeup and keep your skin hydrated. Fix + by MAC Cosmetics is my ultimate go-to.
